The following 7 steps will guide you through a successful door-to-door move.
Step 1 – Premove Survey
Every move is unique, with its own set of customer needs. A premove survey is crucial to establishing a clear understanding of your requirements and ensuring we meet your expectations. We offer this service completely FREE of charge, with no obligation on your part.
Get in touch with Beijing Mover to schedule a premove survey. One of our moving specialists will visit you in person, and from the very beginning, this specialist will be your dedicated point of contact, assisting you until all your belongings are safely moved into your new home.
A premove survey typically takes 20 minutes to one hour to complete.
Assess quantities: Our moving specialist will walk through each room with you, documenting all items you plan to move. This allows us to calculate the estimated volume of your shipment. Since our quotation is based on this estimated volume, please ensure that every item you intend to move is pointed out. If you plan to purchase additional furniture or items, or if you need to move items from your office, please inform our specialist during the survey.
Brief moving process: After the walkthrough, our moving specialist will sit down with you to provide all necessary information related to your move, including professional packing and protection for your valuable items, insurance options, the destination delivery process, and more.
Specify moving details: We will discuss your packing and moving schedule, destination access, handling of heavy or bulky items, record any special requests or concerns you may have, and answer all your questions to your full satisfaction.
Step 2 – Quotation and Confirmation
Based on the results of the premove survey and our communications, Beijing Mover will create a customized moving package tailored to your specific relocation needs, with reasonable and cost-effective rates. The package will be sent to you promptly via fax, email, or in person, whichever is most convenient for you. You will find all details clearly outlined in the package, including competitive pricing, inclusions and exclusions, insurance policies and premiums, payment terms, moving schedules, and more. For your peace of mind, all costs will be fully communicated and agreed upon before any work begins.
Shortly after the moving package is sent, your dedicated moving specialist will contact you to address any questions and discuss any additional details you may be concerned about.
Once you accept the quotation, please sign it and affix your company stamp (if the move is paid for by a company), then fax a copy to our office. The packing date and time will be scheduled according to your preferred timeline.
Step 3 – Get Goods Ready for Packing
Insurance
Beijing Mover has arranged a comprehensive household goods transit insurance program. The insurance premium is calculated as a percentage of the declared value of your belongings.
An Insurance Declaration Inventory Form will be provided to you for completion. Please carefully read the insurance terms and conditions on the reverse side of the form before filling it out.
It is extremely important that you return the completed Insurance Declaration Form to us before the packing process begins.
Self-packing for Personal Effects (Guideline for Self-packing)
Some clients prefer to pack their personal effects (such as clothes, books, etc.) themselves. You can either call us or complete and return the Premove Carton Request Form to our office. Upon receiving your request, Beijing Mover will deliver cartons and packing materials to you for pre-move packing. Please leave any fragile items, electronic appliances, or furniture to Beijing Mover’s professional packers, who will ensure they are packed and protected properly. Step 4 – Professional Packing
On the scheduled packing date, our packing team will arrive at your location promptly. An English-speaking packing supervisor will introduce the team to you, outline the work schedule, and then walk through each room with you to get a clear understanding of the items to be packed.
The packing supervisor will communicate with you throughout the packing process to ensure all your requirements are followed carefully and strictly.
Under the supervision of the packing supervisor, our packers will use appropriate packing materials to pack your belongings, ensuring each item receives the best possible protection during transportation.
Each packed box will be labeled with a serial number and a description of its contents. A detailed packing inventory list will be created during the packing process. After packing is completed, you will be asked to sign the inventory list to confirm the contents and number of packages. A copy of the list will be provided to you for your records.
Once packing is finished, the packing supervisor will inspect each room with you to ensure no items are left behind before the team departs.
Step 5 – Transportation and Storage
Immediately after packing, your valuable belongings will be loaded onto our vehicles and transported directly to your new home.
If you require storage for your belongings after packing, we can provide secure storage space at our warehouse upon your request.
Step 6 – Delivery
The same team that packed your belongings will deliver them to your new home. All items will be moved into your home, with serial numbers verified during the move-in process. We will unpack your belongings and place them according to your instructions, reassemble any furniture, and clean up any packing debris upon completion of delivery.
You will be asked to sign the Delivery Receipt and packing inventory list to acknowledge receipt of your belongings and confirm their condition. You will also be requested to complete and sign a Job Evaluation Form to provide feedback on our service.
Step 7 – Payment
If the move is to be paid for personally, full payment is required on the moving day.
Beijing Mover’s specialist will be responsible for coordinating with you throughout the process to ensure your move proceeds according to plan.
